Theres no place like home…
Actually there’s no place like Asia – especially when you are eating you way through it.
For me, the thrill of moving to a new city is that you walk in with an almost blank restaurant canvas. One of the most interesting and challenging things since moving abroad is trying to build our restaurant vocabulary. Being so obsessed with eating, finding out where to eat (and where not to eat) is my absolute passion.
Who am I?
I am a Sydney born Chinese girl, who after eating my way through London for over 4 years, am taking a leap of faith by moving to Shanghai (with husband Sam in tow – a fellow Aussie). Our life and relationship pretty much revolves around 2 things – food and travel. For us, work provides the means to travel, and travel is a good excuse to eat. Not that we need an excuse!
Sam is a fantastic photographer and I enjoy a bit of writing. Together we have created our blog as our way to record our journey, keep in contact with friends and family and above all, share our passion with anyone who happens to stumble upon these pages.
I am no expert, and will never see myself as a foodie. I simply love food, the way it heightens our experiences and how it brings people of all walks together.
I don’t like to lug our digital SLR to dinner often (isn’t it a shame they don’t fit into a clutch), but when we do we try to take photos at lightning speed, without flash and with a Nikkor 35mm f/2 lens. Other photos are taken with our camera phones.
Send me love.
